I bought a couple of Obento Mooks... or magazine books at a local re-sale place called Book Off. They are filled with pictures of creative ways to pack a bento lunch.
Here is what a hard boiled egg looks like when you stuff it into a star-shaped mold when it is still warm.

Very cool! D-2 and 100 yen shops have lots of little goodies for packing o-bento at reasonable prices. Looking forward to seeing some of your bento creations in upcoming posts!
