A new section of road is slated to open next week in central Sasebo. Before they open it, they had a party!

The roads were open for the masses to check out on foot. As with other road openings we've attended here in Japan, this one was very popular.

At another road opening we attended they had vehicles open for the kids (and adults) to climb in. I didn't see that at this one while we were there.

They did have some animals to pet and free compost! We made the mistake of getting our bag of compost before walking the roads. It was heavy.

Part of the festivities and food booths below the roads. They also had bands and dancers.
