We slept through the actual changing of the year, but we did watch the sunrise all over Japan via Japanese television. We went to the
Futenma Shrine as we have several other years. I didn't see the free Sake, but much was the same this year as in years past.

Not such a great fortune this year. That's okay, I tied it up on the fence and things should clear up.

Many families go to pay respect for their family members who have died.

We always buy mochi at this stand outside the Futenma Shrine. I love their Daifuku!

And what would the New Year be in Okinawa without the mystery bags?
